thank you so much for this website, it has been a real lifesaver the past couple of years… people always seem to forget about the southern hemisphere in Wiccan, pagan and witchcraft blogs, books etc. 😦
I found your website looking for ways to celebrate the Ostara Festival and I was NOT disappointed!!
Your almost laid back but informatively friendly writing style to the updated festival dates are so easy to navigate… thank you for this absolute treasure!!
blessed be ❤

Hi!
I was so excited to find your website because it’s been really hard starting out and finding that everything is based on the Northern Hemisphere, and when searching the Southen Hemisphere finding very conflicting and confusing information that looks like “Northern but flipped” instead of tailored.
I was just wondering if you had an updated moon phases section of the website as the page I was taken to is the 2014 moon phases 😦
Thank you!

Hi. I have just created my own book of shadows and inside my book of shadows, I am also including all the Sabbats celebrations and information about the Sabbats celebrated in Australia (such as Samhain in Australia) as read on your website, as I would like to incorporate all of these celebrations into my book as well as a celebration to celebrate with my family.
However, when it came to the Beltane sabbats, I was trying to look for Beltane in Australia for how Beltane is celebrated in Australia and couldn’t find information regarding the Beltane that details how Beltane is celebrated in Australia and what the celebration is about, like all the other sabbats were explained.
So, I am just wondering if you are in time will do a Beltane in Australia thread/blog so Witches and Wiccans can celebrate the tradition that is relevant or related to Australia?
I know Beltane typically falls around or on Halloween in Australia, just seeking more information in regards to Beltane celebrated in Australia as opposed to Halloween.
Thank you in advance for reading my post in regards to me asking about Beltane in Australia, and wish you all the best & good luck for the remainder of the year.
Kind Regards, Macey xoxo

Merry Meet again,
Two weeks ago, I had joined a community group via an app called Animo.
Just in case you don’t know what Animo is, Animo is a community app which is sort of like social media but it’s more specifically for people are Witches, Wiccans and Pagans and my experience with that community has been going so well.
Yesterday, I had one of the admins of this Animo community group come and asked me to do some posts to explains how we celebrate the same sabbats as them but how they are celebrated on different times of the year, as they want to learn and understand how these same sabbats are celebrated in Southern Hemisphere.
I am wanting to try my personal best to make some of those posts about the Southern Hemisphere sabbats with as much of my own wording as possible so it is own work, however, I am also wanting to make sure that the information I share to them and with them, about Southern Hemisphere sabbats is accurate.
Because you are basically the only website I’ve found that happens to have sabbats relatively accurate for the way they are celebrated in the Southern Hemisphere, it has brought me here to ask for your permission to share some of your information regarding the Southern Hemisphere sabbats. And, if I do get given your permission to do these posts, I will have all the posts with some of the information on there credited to you.
I could have easily chosen to be one of those dodgy people that post them without your permission, but I do not wish to stoop that level with doing that, as I feel doing these posts without seeking your permission is very wrong, very dishonest and very disrespectful to you and to the hard work you have done.
Which is why I am doing this the correct way, and by asking for your permission first before going ahead with doing these kinds of posts.
Please let me know what you think and what you want to do. Doesn’t have to be right now nor is it expected for you to give an immediate answer too soon, I am more than happy enough to give you as much time as you need to think before going ahead with this. If you much rather talk with me in a much more private format, my email address for you to be able to contact me is macey@intercomm.com.au
I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend, I hope you’ve had a really lovely day today and I wish for the rest of this week to still remain really good and beautiful.
Kind Regards, Macey 🙂

Lovely to read a blog from a fellow Aussie Wytch/Witch.😀😃😊 Nice to make your acquaintance and I’m following you now too of course. You may find some of my own blog posts interesting reading too. Although my blog isn’t as professional looking as yours as I’m still getting to work out WordPress. Lol But then again it’s about the content too right.
Hope that you enjoyed a Happy Lammas! We celebrated it down on the beach as we live by the ocean. It was your typical Aussie cold winters day but not a cloud in the sky and the sun was shinining down brightly. Nature really is so very beautiful!
I really enjoyed reading about your wand made with your dog’s hair instead of feathers and loved the photos. Thanks for giving me a such a new great idea now to make myself another new wand using my cocker spaniel’s soft lush golden fur.🐶
I made a magickal toy years ago with his fur and my then poodle’s as well. It’s just such a lovely idea to make a one imho. Thanks so much for sharing this. My familiar is our dog too he’s so faithful and so loving but he’s quite old now as he’s nearly 15.
One day we will be heartbroken without him but such is the cycle of life for all of us sentient creatures/beings. But we spoil him all of the time because he’s our fur baby. Especially as all our children are grown up now but we have quite a few grandchildren to love and spoil now too.
I’ve read quite a few great posts on here and liked them all. I will definitely be back to read some more.
Blessed Be & Namaste,🙏
CazWytch⭐️❤️🌙

Hi. Thank you for this page. I am a Solitary Wiccan in South Africa, and for the first time went to a coven celebration for Yule. It was interesting to find out that I was doing my circle casting and elements in the Northern Hemispher fashion. I am glad I went, and now can do my circle casting in the right fashion. Blessed Be

Hi Tara,
Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately it’s not possible to receive notifications from this website. The notification function only applies to blog entries, and as everything on this site is published on “pages” rather than “blogs” no notifications would be issued anyway (hope that made sense, lol). Also, this site is not updated on a regular basis — I initially had a mad flurry of activity to get it populated with all my info but that has slowed down a lot over the last few years. I do have a Facebook page where I post updates for this and all my other blogs, so you could follow me there if you wanted to at https://www.facebook.com/TheDragonswood/
I’m also the website manager for my local pagan group here in Sydney so you might also find topics of interest on our main website at spheresoflight.com.au and our quarterly free emagazine called Axis Mundi.
Cheers,
Jenny

Thank you so much for creating this! I have struggled for so long converting sabbat dates and then the ensuing arguments as to whether or not I was right to do so. I live in South Africa and have been battling to live my witch life hand-in-hand with the other aspects of my life, strongly discouraged by a lack of pagan community. Luckily I have a newly planted garden (one which I’m getting really excited about) in which to learn and I live in a town where my esoteric ways fit in with the farmers and residents alike. I’m very excited about spending more time expressing myself as a pagan and I know your site will be a regular companion of mine. Bright blessings and light.

Yes it can be very frustrating at times trying to explain to some people that the sabbats are seasonal and therefore should be celebrated at the appropriate season, not just a set calendar date which is only suitable for northern hemisphere seasons. Thanks for your comment KArizhel, I’m glad I can help you to follow your pagan path in a way that suits you. 😀
